Reality as a Reflection of the Heart

As she changed on the mat, Renata Langer watched her community change too. A reflection on sangha, co-creating our reality and loving each other whole.

The Revolution Yoga community together

Yoga is a gift to any community, organized or not. The idea that getting closer to ourselves brings us closer to others is a magical and powerful message my yoga practice brought me.

As I evolved on my mat, I started to see others evolving. As I cried, let go and forgave, I saw others crying, letting go and forgiving. Over time my spiritual practice took a whole different shape, as I watched my community shape-shifting around me.

Are we co-creating our reality?

Is it possible that we are always co-creating our universe, our reality, our sangha? There are no mistakes. We are in this together, and we are indeed reflections of one another.

In turbulent times, we may feel skeptical, and in no way responsible for the mess out there. But we must be willing to take responsibility and accept that our reality reflects the current condition of our hearts. The practice of yoga, and our sangha, reminds us that nothing takes place on earth that is not imagined, created or manifested by us.

I see troubling times as a great opportunity: to attract those who vibrate with the same energy and strengthen those connections, and also to test our tolerance, our vulnerability and our willingness to love those who don’t.

We are one

As I look in the mirror and allow myself to see me, with all my imperfections, and still accept, love and embrace my uniqueness, I look at you and see you, with all your imperfections, and still accept, love and embrace your uniqueness.

We are a group of powerful warriors and of tired, wounded soldiers. We are a group with a vision, and a group that has lost its way. We are those madly in love and those living with a broken heart. We are those working tirelessly to repair the breach and those slowly chiseling at the dam. We are both the one crying for help and the one coming to the rescue.

I believe that as yogis, our mission is to become liberated from our conditioning, and the Creator thought it would be funny if we could only practice on each other. We are one!
