The Transition From
Student To Teacher

Completing a yoga teacher training is often only the beginning.

Many new teachers leave training inspired, but still searching for confidence, experience, mentorship, practical teaching skills, real-world integration, and support navigating the transition into teaching.

The apprenticeship program was created to provide that next layer of development through guided experience, observation, mentorship, feedback, and community immersion.

Teaching develops through practice, observation, mentorship, and time, not certification alone.

Lineage,
Modernized

Traditionally, yoga was learned through direct relationship, observation, mentorship, and long-term practice with experienced teachers.

This apprenticeship model honors that lineage-based approach while integrating it into modern studio life and contemporary teaching environments.

Rather than rushing teachers toward performance or social media visibility, this program emphasizes patience, refinement, humility, observation, embodiment, service, and sustainable growth.

Students develop teaching from authentic experience and embodied understanding rather than imitation or external performance.

Depth develops through relationship, observation, repetition, and practice.

Learning Inside
A Living Community

The apprenticeship experience is designed to feel immersive, relational, and experiential.

Apprentices become part of a living yoga community while receiving mentorship, guidance, observation opportunities, supported teaching experiences, and real-world integration.

This environment allows learning to happen organically through practice, repetition, relationship, reflection, participation, and embodied experience.

Many apprentices develop not only as teachers, but as leaders, communicators, and grounded practitioners through the process.

Common
Questions

Do I need a 200-hour certification first?

Yes. Completion of the Revolution Yoga 200hr is required. The apprenticeship builds directly on our curriculum, philosophy, and teaching methodology, so it isn't a fit for graduates of other programs without taking our bridge program. Outside graduates who apply are considered case-by-case.

Can I apprentice while working another job?

Yes. The program is designed to fit around working schedules. Most apprentices balance the program with full-time work, family, or other commitments.

Will I teach real classes?

Yes. The program builds gradually, you'll start by observing, then teaching portions of classes with feedback, and eventually leading full classes with mentor support.

Is this appropriate for brand-new teachers?

Absolutely. Brand-new teachers are exactly who this program was designed for. Most apprentices are within a year of completing their 200hr.

How long does the apprenticeship last?

Most apprenticeships run 3–12 months depending on goals, schedule, and how the work is unfolding for you. Length is customized.

Is mentorship included?

Yes, it's the heart of the program. You'll receive both 1:1 mentorship sessions and group community check-ins throughout your apprenticeship.

Can this lead to teaching opportunities?

It can. Many apprentices have gone on to teach regularly at Revolution Yoga after completing the program. There's no guarantee, but the door is open.
