Dear Revolution Community,
We have come to the joint of the seasons where hot and cold meet. You may notice when these opposites join, big storms in our environment soon follow.
You may experience this internally too. A joint of seasons marks an internal storm, as the body should elegantly shift itself, preparing for the next season. A subtle internal rumbling, urging us to prepare for something coming.
You’ll notice in animals in nature or pets, that they shed and then establish a winter coat. Some may start hoarding food or once preparations are made, a heaviness takes over, as the light decreases day by day.
For others, the internal storm may match the wind, where the mind takes off, negotiating what’s old with what is new. What to shed that is no longer serving, against the anticipation of what may lie in the future. A natural movement, or shifting back and forth before settling in.
When the human body is removed from a natural system of light (artificial lights in home, work, screens), a natural system of eating (artificial preservatives, ingredients, colors, not seasonal eating), a natural hormonal system (endocrine disrupting chemicals in the water, environment, foods, beauty products, hormonal birth control), a natural system of seasons (hvac/heating/excess travel), one may find that the internal storm of the shifting seasons, becomes quite tumultuous and severe.
Symptoms of this taxing of the human body, show up as extreme exhaustion, anxiety, skin issues, immune system problems, like frequent colds and infections, over activity in the mind - unable to “shut it off”, inability to fall asleep easily, waking up in the middle of the night, difficulty getting up in the morning, an inner feeling of worry and fear, digestive issues, clumsiness and an increase in injuries and accidents and more.
It’s pivotal at these times, that we assist the body in its transition, since it is already taxed.
In practical ways, cleaning out the house and decluttering and organizing your things, is a helpful way to organize the mind.
Slimming down on social engagements and opting for a leaner schedule, where more rest and rejuvenation is prioritized, also helps.
Spending time journaling and meditating at the end or start of the day, will help to negotiate what to let go of and what to take in, in a grounded way.
Come to a yoga class at Revolution Yoga, as all the teachers will provide specially sequenced classes to help detoxify your body and nervous system for this time so you may transition between seasons more gracefully!
We will also be offering a done for you Ayurvedic cleanse, to those who qualify, that will remove the build up of what may be impeding your wellness goals and internal balance.
Whatever you decide to take on in this transition, please remember this is a practice, not a perfect. Give yourself grace and consider all that arises for you on this journey as neutral information to teach you to expand on your path to ascension.
Thank you for being a part of our community.
Peace and love,
Amanda and the good folks at Revolution Yoga
