Dear Revolution Community,
The intention behind what you do- love
There are so many stories in the vedas about how to live, how to worship, how to practice, how to go about living in the world in a way that will reap the most benefits, and all advice seems to boil down to one thing.
What is the intention behind the thought, action, word, deed? Human intention is so deeply powerful. I believe many of us are walking around without awareness of how innately powerful we are. How much we affect the material world and people around us unconsciously and consciously.
The idea is, if we bring everything we do into intentionality, we are bringing what we put into the world from being influenced, from a place of the conditioned unconscious into the conscious mind. In the conscious, is the only place we can decide that we can be masters over our own minds, and in effect our own destinies.
But there is so much in the environment that plays upon our primitive urges, needs and desires, that draws us back into unconscious ways of being. We get addicted to being comfortable and entertained to the point that we lose the ability to be present. In presence we are able to witness everything that comes into the mind and everything that we put out into the world expressed through our behaviors.
Have you ever thought to yourself “I wasn’t thinking before I spoke, I shouldn’t have said that, if I could only go back in time.” or “I knew better, I shouldn’t have done that.” What happens when we exist in a continued state of presence, is we can choose in the moment to act from love. Rather than unconsciously and reactively acting from the unconscious conditionings.
As my mother says, “The best and only reason we are on this earth… is to love.” But in the unconscious, we act instead from greed, fear, desire etc. and often we live with regret. Have you ever regretted any action you took with love? Probably not. The yoga system is giving us tools to remain ever present, which means everything can stay conscious. This means we can decide what thoughts we will give energy to, what deeds we take in the world, what words we let slip through our lips. The intention we hold, is to love ourselves, love others, love divinity’s creation and then, and only then, can we live a life without regret. So I leave you this month with a gentle reminder to stay present and let love lead with intention.
Check out our classes and workshops online and in person. I guarantee they will all inspire you to be closer to a state of love.
