Dear Revolution Community,
We are coming up on our 14th year being open and I am so proud of all that we have accomplished together. So many have walked through our doors and worked so hard on their healing and growth. All of our teachers are constantly learning and striving to guide and inspire us all.
Our back and front-end staff shows up every day with the collective goal of this massive undertaking of stewarding a community of truth seekers, spiritualists, intellects, and genuinely kind hearted souls towards self-realization.
It has been an honor to watch over this community all these years as our lives transition and change, but our mission has remained the same, to raise the consciousness of humanity one human at a time.
Every time you take a class online or in person, show up for a community event or workshop, volunteer your time for a seva event, or introduce a friend or family member to the community, it feeds the life blood of the studio and keeps us open another day to continue this work.
With the economy looking the way it has, in order to continue our work, I’ve decided to make a few necessary changes and initiate some new programs.
Support for those in financial need:
It is important for the studio to remain accessible to the community at large, so we will still be offering a large array of donation based classes where you can pay what you can. We are also putting together scholarship memberships. If you have the funds to donate a bit more each month on top of your current membership, those funds will be pooled for qualifying students in need who want to apply funds to trainings, workshops and classes.
We also offer the option of energetic exchange in bartering by helping out in the studio for an unlimited membership.
Community Support:
Additionally, I can’t help but think about what sustenance really means. About where value really comes from beyond money. We all have basic needs for shelter, food and clothing that often we rely on money to sustain. But when money’s inherent value dwindles and everything costs more than it ever has, what is the responsibility of a leader of a community?
While the truth of the matter is, historically we didn’t necessarily need money to get those things. There were community support systems in place for people to band together. I’ve always believed our community represented the change we wished to see in the world in the way we hold each other, treat each other and grow together. So, I would like to create systems where we can further benefit from one another’s association.
If you offer a service or have a talent that can be bartered with other community members without monetary exchange (energetic exchange only), I’ve dedicated a portion of our website for applications and we will create a Barter Long Island group.
Grow vegetables? Have laying hens for eggs? Are you a plumber? Graphic Designer? Babysitter? Chef? Whatever it is, maybe we can help each other by banding together. Beyond political rhetoric, beyond ideologies, we can build the village we’ve always dreamed of by utilizing what we are today and connecting with one another.
Self Sufficiency:
Stay tuned the following year as we roll out programming to help you deepen your knowledge of self sufficiency, utilizing nature to enrich your life. After all, yoga encompasses an entire lifestyle, not just postures! The Vedas teach us how to live a holistic life, so let’s learn, explore, engage and evolve together!
