Dear Yogis,

Confucius said, “The person who moves a mountain begins by carrying away small stones.”

This is an idea we can apply to our practice and even our lives. If there’s a goal you’re working towards in your life, or even your practice- maybe heels on the ground in down dog, a handstand, an arm balance, enlightenment!

In life, maybe a lifelong dream, a deal at work, a goal for your personal life- it’s easy to get overwhelmed and want to just give up.

But the bigger more worthy things in your life don’t often come easy or instantly. We wouldn’t learn anything that way. They take persistence.

It says in the yoga sutras “When the practice is done for a long time, without a break, and with sincere devotion, then the practice becomes a firmly rooted, stable and solid foundation.”

So no matter how hard it gets or maybe frustrating or discouraging, make sure to reroute your mind to this idea- take it one day at a time, carry one stone at a time until you reach that lofty goal you’ve been dreaming about. As my uncle says- “How do you eat a whole elephant? One bite at a time!” (Apologies for the non-vegan joke but jokes aside) Human beings are powerful manifesters and with clarity of mind (something this practice provides) anything becomes possible. You can achieve your dreams. Your community can’t wait to see what you’re capable of this upcoming year. Revolution Yoga will be by your side to support your vision becoming reality!

See you on your mat!

Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!

Peace and Love,
Amanda and the good folks at Revolution Yoga
