Dear Yogis,

Real life unfolds slowly. We may be deceived by the illusion that the devices we watch portray: that everything is happening fast. The image on television changes every 30 seconds.

The social media we scroll through depicts fast motion flowers unfurling and bread quickly rising but these things actually take time.

That’s the thing about life, it requires patience for the things that are planted to grow into their full fruition.

The time that it takes to know some thing for certain. The time that it takes to fully arrive at the path that’s meant for you. The time that it takes to digest and understand new information. The time it takes for fruit to fully ripen.

All of this requires the loving, compassionate patience that the Yogi is always trying to cultivate. We stay in warrior two for ten breaths and we are given the opportunity to cultivate the kind of patience required to really relish in (not get frustrated with) the process of things.

So, if you’re feeling like life has grounded you in any capacity, that things aren’t moving as fast as you like, take a minute to find your breath, slow down, become present in honor of the process.

In that recognition of the process you will discover that you have not been grounded you have been planted.

All the things that seem like failings are actually just learnings.

Think about what this means for you in your life, your yoga practice, in your work and your relationships.

Know as we cultivate these things slowly, even patience takes time to master. It’s a practice, not a perfect. Decide how in some small step, you’ll start that practice.

A step onto your mat, into your journal, onto the meditation pillow, into a space of community, whatever it may be, take one small step today so you may grow more deeply where you were planted!

Peace and Love,
Amanda and the good folks at Revolution Yoga
