Dear Yogis,
In Ayurveda there is an art to perfecting the balance of flavors for optimal digestion. If you use a chili pepper or a really intense spice, you temper it by mixing it with other cooling spices, oils or vegetables to create a balanced flavor.
This way the food doesn’t cause harm to the one imbibing it. Then digesting it isn’t impossible from being too extreme.
Right now the world may feel like a hot chili pepper that can burn your throat and very easily be pushing you into a state of imbalance.
So what are we doing in our lives to counterbalance that so we can more easily digest our experiences and transform them into wisdom? What are we doing to temper the really spicy parts of life?
Of course our yoga tradition provides us everything we need. Through the breath, the postures, the philosophy we are able to bring the nervous system back into a regulated/ balanced state. A steady, consistent practice tempers life perfectly.
At Revolution the classes are even perfectly sequenced to balance you for the season. Just come and flow and you’ll find after even just one class you’ll feel better.
Even old stagnant experiences get digested throughout the body with a regular asana (physical yoga) practice and throughout the mind with meditation/ philosophy.
Or how do we temper even the really dull parts of life?
Real living is not for the weak and timid. It is only those who are willing to risk their life to have a life who find happiness. - Shantam Nityama
So what things do we have to let go of to make room in our lives for the people we know we can become once we properly digest all the world has to offer?
What new daily rituals can we incorporate into our lives to temper what’s hard in life and to uplift what may feel dull or lifeless? You’ll find once the daily ritual incorporates tempering, everything else in life will naturally transform for the better.
Check out all of our offerings below and be sure to share with friends and family who could benefit. We offer practices anywhere anytime online now so there is no better time to commit to inner balance.
Peace and Love,
