Letter from Amanda: The Path You Were Meant For

Six months of closure, a yoga sutra every morning and a community that held together: Amanda's gratitude as Revolution Yoga prepared to reopen in 2020.

Dear Yogis,

If yoga teaches us anything it’s to trust that you ended up on the path where you were meant to be. There was no other way you could have taken, there’s no other thing you deserve, there’s no other thing that’s more fair than the moment arriving to you now.

You’re already perfect. Your yoga practice is not for “YOU”. It’s for the mind/body vehicle carrying YOU around in this particular manifestation. That’s what I learned during this closure. Running a yoga “business” has the stressors of running any business…but while on the surface it looks like that’s all there is, it is barely that.

As a community we went into lock down and we decided to use the time to deepen the spiritual practice that informs and powers what Revolution is. Every morning we read a yoga sutra, discussed it and meditated. It was deeply transformative for all of us. After six months, on a Friday we read the last sutra and had a good laugh that now that we finished the entire book the studio had to magically reopen. The next business day it was officially announced that we can re-open after getting logistics up to state guidelines (which we have been working on non-stop since announced!)

These kinds of moments happened every time I wondered am I supposed to be doing something else?

Then the answer showed up in the form of support. The students who kept their memberships and kept dropping into classes. It showed up in the messages from students and staff saying please keep going. In the donations that poured in. In the students who donated their outdoor spaces. In the teachers who kept leading despite their own personal difficulties and the ones who couldn’t anymore continuing their emotional support. In the leadership team who had to keep reorganizing and encouraging one another and for the desk staff who assisted with whatever they could be in service of.

I can’t express the gratitude I have for everyone who held US together. OUR Revolution community. We’ve all built something really beautiful and really important together.

I can’t wait to be able to hold space for our collective energy again IN our space. These incredible lessons I’ve learned through this process to reaffirm my convictions on the yogic path will stay with me for the rest of my life.

I encourage anyone reading this to use every moment you experience, even the difficult ones, as fuel towards finding yourself in this life.

Check out all of our offerings below this month and keep an eye out for more announcements coming soon!

In love,
Amanda and the good folks at Revolution Yoga
